CLAT 2022 Syllabus

CLAT 2022 Syllabus

The UG CLAT syllabus 2022 is divided into five sections. The CLAT PG syllabus, on the other hand, is based on major topics covered in the LLB programme.

Candidates seeking admission to undergraduate law courses offered by the participating NLUs can refer to the below UG CLAT syllabus 2022.

1. Current Affairs including General Knowledge

This section will be made up of passages rather than the direct questions that were asked earlier. The passages will be approximately 450 words long. They will be derived from news, journals, and other sources. Reading newspapers and journals containing legal information can help tremendously to prepare for this section.

2. Legal Reasoning

This section will assess the candidate’s interest in law, research skills, and problem-solving abilities. Again, questions would be based on 450 word long passages relating to facts or scenarios involving legal issues. The passage will contain certain rules and principles candidates will be required to identify and apply the same to the questions.

3. Quantitative Aptitude

The Maths section will present short sets of facts or concepts, graphs, or diagrammatic representations of numerical information, followed by a series of questions. Since the section requires a lot of practice, we advise candidates to solve the previous year question papers rigorously.

4. Logical Reasoning

This section is designed to test the candidate’s ability to identify links, logical patterns, and rectify illogical arguments. The passages in this section are approximately 300 words long. Statement & Conclusions, Direction and distance test, Coding and Decoding, Blood Relationships, etc are some of the areas of logical reasoning.

5. English Language

This section will assess candidates’ English proficiency through comprehension passages. The students are given passages of about 450 words each, that could be fiction, nonfiction, contemporary, historical, etc. Candidates must understand the main idea discussed in the passage, as well as any counter-arguments used in the passage, in this section.
